R&D Nester and Aalborg University sign agreement for research and development projects in the energy area

 

R&D Nester Energy Research Center and the Faculty of Engineering and Science from Aalborg University in Denmark, have signed a partnership agreement that will allow collaboration in joint research and development projects, sharing of expertise and potential joint participation in national and international funding programs for R&D.

This agreement was followed by the visit to the R&D Nester of Dr. Zhe Chen, professor in the Department of Energy Technology, at Aalborg University, held in 20th of February.

Aalborg University and R&D Nester, a company belonging to REN and China Electric Power Research Institute (a State Grid Corporation of China company), will now be sharing information on renewable energy, smart grid and power system planning and other related topics.

The Department of Energy Technology carries out research and education within a broad field of Energy Technology, covering both Electrical, Thermal and Mechanical Energy.

The Department's research focuses on efficient energy production based on renewable energy sources and optimal use of energy for various purposes, hence also energy saving technologies.

The Department has approx. 250 students, 60 PhDs, more than 50 ongoing collaboration projects and approx. 50% of its turnover comes from external projects. (http://www.et.aau.dk/)

These new partnerships reinforces a strong cooperation with national and international research academic institutions and industrial companies and thus attract more researchers and potential partners from around the world.
