R&D Nester presents a scientific paper in IEEE conference

R&D Nester has published and presented its second scientific paper, in the scope of the "Multiattribute Energy Storage Planning" project, led by Miguel Moreira da Silva.

The research paper has the title "Siting and Sizing Dispersed Energy Storage in Power Transmission Networks", and was accepted to be presented in the prestigious IEEE Conference on Green Energy and Systems (IGESC), organized by the California State University.

The paper was produced in the context of the partnership between R&D Nester and China Electric Power Research Institute (CEPRI), having as authors Miguel Moreira da Silva, Ricardo Pastor, Tao Shi, Liang Zhao and Jilei Ye.

The researcher Ricardo Pastor was the presenter of the paper in the conference, emphasizing that "this network planning model developed from scratch at R&D Nester - and now reinforced by an algorithm for energy storage optimization - results in a tool of extreme importance for network operators, who are willing to include energy storage technologies in their asset base, for network management and operation support in the presence of high penetration of renewables".

In the next months, R&D Nester is going to validate the methodology through a set of case studies applied on the National Transmission Grid.
