R&D NESTER HOSTED THE IEC SUBCOMMITTEE WORKING GROUP

Founded in 1906, the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) is the world's leading organization for the preparation and publication of international standards for all electrical, electronic and related technologies.

IEC is divided into TCs (technical committees) and SCs (subcommittees), which integrate several WGs (working groups).

R&D Nester hosted the last meeting of the subcommittee SC 8A: "Grid Integration of Renewable Energy Generation" that was held last February.

This event was a joint meeting of two working groups that belong to the SC8A:

  • WG6 - Connection of Renewable Energy with HVDC System
  • WG7 - Integrating distributed PV into DC systems and use cases.

R&D Nester is represented in the WG6 with the nomination of its Managing Director, Nuno Souza e Silva, as member.

These 3-day meeting was held in a hybrid format, welcoming members of different nationalities in the face to face meeting in Lisbon, Portugal, and through the online zoom conference.

The event had a rich and busy agenda for these 3 days of work. The groups addressed several points scheduled on the respective agendas, including technical reports, proposals for new projects, technical presentations, progress and discussion of IEC technical standards.
