Nester visits ELIA’s I&D unit
Nester's delegation visits I&D innovation unit of ELIA, Belgian Transmission operator.
The visit took place on 5 September and had the purpose to share and collect experiences and management practices in the area of innovation and research and development. An initiative that the Nester's team intends to repeat in the future, among TSOs European benchmarks, in order to collect the best management practices in the area of innovation and I&D in order to be able to apply them accordingly to Nester’s context of operation and mission.
The main points covered in the visit focused, among other issues, the I&D internal structure and process management in ELIA, in the fields of technological interest and I&D for ELIA, in the sources of funding and in cooperation with foreign entities".
The Nester, Centre for research and Development in Portugal, in the area of energy, is the result of an agreement between REN and CEPRI-China Electric Power Research Institute (on behalf of the State Grid International Development) in February this year. Counting in the future on the collaboration of prestigious universities in the energy sector, local industry and institutions of international I&D, it aims to become a knowledge platform for international development of solutions and innovative tools applied to the planning and operation of energy transmission networks.
