R&D Nester and LNEG partners in scientific projects in the energy sector
The R&D Nester Energy Research Centre and Portuguese Energy and Geology Laboratory (LNEG) have signed a partnership agreement that will create technical, scientific and institutional synergies in national and European projects connected to the energy sector.
The LNEG and R&D Nester, a company belonging to REN and the China Electric Power Research Institute (a State Grid Corporation of China company), will now be working together in projects to include renewable energy in the electricity generation system, energy analyses and energy efficiency issues.
Both the partners may also participate in tenders for funding in Portuguese or European energy programmes.
Nuno Souza e Silva, CEO of R&D NESTER said that the partnership represents "an important milestone in undertaking concrete interaction with key public entities like LNEG in the area of R&D".
Teresa Ponce Leão, Chairwoman of the LNEG Management Board, added that the partnership was yet another example of society's use of the knowledge generated at LNEG.
