R&D NESTER contributes in the definition of guidelines for the Coupling of Heating&Cooling and Electricity Sectors for Europe
The White Paper "Coupling of Heating/Cooling
and Electricity Sectors in a Renewable Energy-Driven Europe" focuses on the
implications of coupling the electricity, heating and cooling vectors as a
vital part of efficiently decarbonising the European energy sector.
This document resulted from the cooperation of several experts from two European Technology & Innovation Platforms (ETIPs), namely ETIP Renewable Heat and Cooling (RHC) and ETIP Smart Networks for Energy Transition (SNET) in which R&D NESTER has several experts involved in several working groups. ETIPs have been created by the European Commission in the framework of the new Integrated Roadmap Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET Plan) by bringing together a multitude of stakeholders and experts from the energy sector.
This white paper was released on past 25th of November and includes the contributions from R&D NESTER's researcher Ricardo Pastor, which collaborates with ETIP-SNET WG2 (Storage technologies and system flexibilities).
